Design & Development of Custom Color Contrast Checker with Dynamic Luminance & Ratio Calculation (HTML, CSS, JS)

As an accessibility specialist, I check the color contrast of content quite frequently, and I've found that many of the contrast ratio calculators available online are frustrating to use and/or lacking features. In the end, I decided to create my own contrast checker from scratch. The tool accepts two hex values (entered manually, or selected via color picker), and uses JS to dynamically calculate their relative luminance, contrast, and WCAG compliance. This was one of the most math-intensive JavaScript projects I've completed in recent memory, but the effort was worth it because I now use this tool regularly.

Design & Development of an Unofficial Maryland COVID-19 Data Visualization Hub (HTML, CSS, JS)

From 2020-2021, I designed, developed, and maintained a COVID-19 data visualization website focused on the state of Maryland. Early on in the pandemic, I noticed that while the state published their COVID-19 data online, they did so in a way that could be confusing and/or difficult to parse for the layperson. I decided to scrape Maryland's public COVID-19 data and display it in a way that was more clear, visually interesting, and (hopefully) easy to understand. I used leaflet.js for the map visualizations, and chart.js as the base for all of my graphs and charts.

Design & Development of a Fashion Modeling Portfolio (HTML, CSS, JS, Instagram API)

In 2020, I designed, developed, and hosted a modeling portfolio for a friend who wanted improve her web presence, as well as have a centralized location for her work portfolio, contact information, and more. I built a clean, "minimalist" site that dynamically pulled her latest instagram photos using the instagram API; this way, she could update the content on her site by simply making a new post, without having to deal with code and/or go through me.

Design & Development of UserWorks Inc's New Corporate Website (HTML, CSS, JS, PHP)

In 2017, I had the opportunity to redesign UserWorks' corporate website from the ground up. The previous site was outdated, not responsive, and had been built more than 5 years earlier using a commercial template. I designed and developed an entirely new website and style guide for the company.

Research and Design of User Journey Map for Attendees of Major Medical Conference

In service to a client at UserWorks, I researched and desiged a comprehensive user journey map cataloguing the experience of attendees at major medical conference. I collected data using attendee interviews, stakeholder interviews, surveys, web analytics, historical sales data, and help desk logs, to create a detailed map of user thoughts, feelings, expectations, touchpoints, and more. The journey map covered three main user groups, and spanned a year-long timeline from initial planning through to conference registration, attendance, and post-conference activities. I created the final product in Photoshop and Illustrator.

Research and Design of User personas for Attendees of Major Medical Conference

In service to a client at UserWorks, I researched and desiged three user personas for attendees of a major medical conference. Using data gathered from attendee interviews, stakeholder interviews, surveys, web analytics, historical sales data, and help desk logs, I identified three main user groups and built out profiles for each. I created the final product in Photoshop and Illustrator.

In service to a client at UserWorks, I desiged three user personas representing major user groups for an international financial organization's public website.
